The trail starts at the end of the road at Vistnesodden promontory, and for the most part follows the mountain as it climbs to Dalaksla. This is the highest point of your walk and the perfect place to enjoy a snack and a stunning view that includes the Vistenfjord, the mountains known as The Seven Sister, and southern Helgeland’s magnificent myriad of islands. When you are ready to continue, walk eastward descending to Åmivatnet lake. If you’ve brought fishing gear, you can see if you’re in luck! The trail continues down to Kilvågen, the cove and village from which you may take the express boat back to Forvik – or if you prefer, just follow the same route back.
